Silversea Cruises takes delivery of another ‘Muse’ ship
Monaco-based cruise line Silversea Cruises, part of Royal Caribbean Group, has taken delivery of Silver Moon, the second of its three new “Muse” ultra-luxury cruise ships being built by Italian shipbuilder Fincantieri.
The delivery ceremony took place at Fincantieri’s Ancona shipyard on 30 October 2020.

Silver Moon is the third ship to be built by Fincantieri for Silversea, being a sister vessel of Silver Muse, that went out to sea in 2017 from the Sestri Ponente shipyard, and of Silver Dawn, scheduled to be delivered in 2021.
At 40,700 gross tons, Silver Moon is the ninth ship to enter the Silversea fleet. Following its launch in August 2019, the newbuild completed its sea trials off the Italian coast in August this year.
The cruise vessel is able to accommodate up to 569 passengers and 414 crew members. Moreover, it features a length of 212.8 metres, a width of 30 metres and is able to reach a speed of 19.8 knots.
Eco-friendly features
Among the vessel’s notations, the “Green Star 3 Design” is the most prominent one — it is assigned to units that are designed, built and equipped in order to prevent air and water pollution, and those referred to the acoustic restraint on board.
What is more, Silver Moon has a 6.6kV High Voltage shore connection system that manages the load transfer operation between ship and shore that can be done with one DG on the network and reduced pollutant emissions.
In order to reduce air pollution as much as possible, Silver Moon is also equipped with open loop exhaust gas cleaning system, designed and provided by Finnish technology group Wartsila.
